This is out last week and everything is starting to come to an end. On Tuesday my Jane Austen went to the British Library and we got see Jane Austen’s original writing desk as well as her journals that she wrote to her sister Cassandra. We also went to the National Portrait Gallery were we saw paintings done by Leonardo Da Vinci, Jane Austen’s original picture that her sister was able to draw, Queen Victoria I, and Queen Victoria II. They also have paintings of Princess Diana and Prince Harry, and William. Then we went to the National Art Gallery were we saw paintings from Van Gogh and Marco Angelo.  Lastly, we went to the Kenwood House were part of the film Mansfield Park was filmed and Parliament Square were you can view the city of London from the top of this hill.

For my Dance, Sports, and Games class we are going to have our last and final workout session at the park. This should be fun and I’m ready to have a major workout. Our last trip for this class will be the Victoria and Albert Museum followed by anything else that we want to do. I am looking forward for this field trip and I enjoyed going to all the field trips from my classes. It was a wonderful experience and exploring London was amazing. There are so many things to do and places to go.

Week three has been an adventure because the class went to the park to do some exercise and on Tuesday we were able to go to the Emirates stadium, which is the home of the Arsenal soccer team. This was a very enjoyable trip, I loved the tour that was provided and it was amazing going to the soccer players dressing room. I was able to take a lot of photographs and it was truly a wonderful experience. Throughout this week I also enjoyed going to Hyde Park and seeing the memorial fountain that has been placed there for Princess Diana. I think it is beautiful and the public can enjoy spending time with their children at the park, its also a great place for kids to get wet in the fountain.

In my Jane Austen class I watched two films called Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. Northanger Abbey was not one of my favorite movies, but Persuasion was wonderful. They are romantic and fun to watch. On Tuesday evening  I was able to go with this other class and take the Jack the Ripper tour. This tour was very interesting and I was hoping it was going to be better, but it really wasn’t what I expected. I am looking forward for Thursday because I am going to Bath with my Jane Austen class and we will be visiting areas around Bath that are associated with Jane Austen and the films.

During week two, I went to Chawton to visit the house of Mr. Darcy from the movie Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It is really the home of the Dutch and Duchess of Devonshire.  It was the most beautiful house I had ever seen in my life and the garden was amazing. I also went to the Museum of Childhood and I really enjoyed my time learning about the history of different games, dolls, and toys. Wednesday, we learned how to square dance and Virginia reel dance. I had a great time learning the dances and it was fun.

Today’s field trip, we went to Wimbledon to visit the lawn tennis museum and take a tour around the area. I had a great time going backstage and seeing where the champions actually play. Next time when I watch a tennis game, I can actually say that I have been there and that I got to see the trophies from Serena Williams and other famous tennis champions. What I really loved about today was going to the Queen Marys Garden. I enjoyed the park and all the roses that the park was surrounded with. It was filled with all types of flowers, roses of all colors, trees, plants, ponds, and fountains. It definitely seemed like a park that families can go to and enjoy their time. I had a great time this week and I really look forward for next week.

My experience for the first week of class was fun. I enjoyed going to the Royal Opera House and learning the history of it. The Harry Potter scavenger hunt was adventurous, but fun as well. I think it gave the class the opportunity to work together and find our way through many locations. What I mostly enjoyed about that day was going to the Royal Opera House. As for the second day out, we took a trip to the park for some exercise. I think the class had a good exercise and it’s good to stay in shape. We also got to do some meditation for a while and relax. Personally this was my favorite part of the day because afterwards I felt good and ready to do something else. I look forward for this class and the trips to come because I think we will all have fun and enjoy our time exploring different areas of London. So far I can say that I am really enjoying this class and I hope to get to know my classmates and I hope to cherish great memories.
