I guess this is my final reflection blog post. This trip has been a lot of fun I stepped out of my box a lot this past month and did quite a few things I normally wouldn’t have done. I tried a lot of things that I’m definitely glad I tried, who knew snails tasted so good. I saw so many amazing sights, had quite a few ridiculous adventures, and learned quite a bit about myself. I had more fun than I could have thought possible on this trip. I think that because of this trip that next school year is going to be quite different. I didn’t accomplish everything I wanted to on this trip, I’ve had some rough times, and I’ve met some really annoying people. The good definitely outweighed the bad though; the nice, fun people outweighed the annoying, frustrating people (not because the nice ones were bigger but because there were quite a few more of them), the fun, ridiculous adventures outweighed the trivial, tiresome moments, and I can always accomplish what I missed at a later date. All in all I’m glad I went on this trip it was well worth the thousands of dollars in loans I will have to pay back later.

This week was quite enjoyable. I was very impressed with the sheer beauty that was Paris. I can’t believe how beautiful Versailles was; it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I didn’t even see half of it, but I wish I saw more as well as I wish I had actually seen the Louvre but there were just so many things to see and we were only there for 2 days, I think we did a good job of seeing as much as we could in 2 days. Friday we came in around 5:30ish and climbed the Eifel Tower and saw Luxemburg Gardens. Then Saturday we got up early and saw the Rodin, the D’Orsay, the Napoleon Gravesite, Notre Dame, and the Arc de Triumfe. Then finally Sunday we saw Versailles (the main palace and about half of the gardens), and got back in time to see Saint Chappelle, just before we had to leave at 4. The palace of Versailles was amazing it was overwhelming and I took hundreds of pictures just to try and catch a glimpse of its beauty then I stepped outside and realized I had wasted my camera on such a meaningless endeavor because the true beauty was in the gardens, there was a gorgeous landscape every which way you turned, you could get lost and be perfectly fine with it. There were fountains every 5 feet and we got there just as the fountain shows started which were fountains spraying water to go with the beat of the classical music playing around them. My camera which had started that day fully charged died just before we were done with the gardens. Before all of this I would have said the best part of my week was seeing a play in globe theatre for 5 pounds but this weekend truly dwarfed that.
